Wellness Guide To Sedona, Arizona
Sedona is a very spiritual tourism destination due to power of the “energy vortexes” + has the most stunning landscape — unique red desert rock formations everywhere. Sedona is filled with psychics, healers, crystal shops, vegetarian cafes, + beauty all around…. but, to be totally honest, I was a little taken aback by how touristy Sedona felt [+ a lot of the hikes were super crowded!]. However, I’m convinced that there are quiet + charming areas of Sedona that I just haven’t quite discovered yet. Visit for yourself + see what you think!
Eats
- Local Juicery — *MUST. Amazing coffee + smoothies + waffles
- FreeForm Coffee Roasters — Specialty coffee
- The Rose Vortex — Coffee, smoothies, + juices
- Black Potion Sedona — Coffee + crystals
- The Chai Spot — Tea house
- Layla’s Bakery — Baked goods + cute brunch spot
- Berry Divine — Acai bowls
- Wildflower — Casual cafe open for lunch + dinner
- Sedona Organic Taco Company — Tacos!
- ChocolaTree Organic Eatery — *MUST. It’s moreso a “cafe” vibe, but it’s open until 8pm. Everything is vegetarian + they have THE BEST desserts! We eat here every night when we are in Sedona lol.
Wellness + To Explore
- Go hiking! There are so many incredible hikes in Sedona, even though most of them were pretty crowed when we were there. Take all the pictures of the red rocks everywhere! The quietest trail we hiked was the Oak Creek Trail, which was a beautiful trail along a river.
The Grand Canyon is 2 hours away from Sedona + in my opinion, an absolute must. Make a weekend out of it + go camping!
- Visit as many “vortexes” as you can — Chapel of The Holy Cross, Airport Mesa, Cathedral Rock, + Bell Rock to name a few. Read more about the vortexes here — it’s fascinating!
- Go shopping! Tlaquepaque Arts + Shopping Village is where a lot of cafes, boutiques, art galleries, crystal shops, etc are. Even though it’s very touristy, I still recommend wandering around + exploring.
- Take a yoga class — There’s no shortage of yoga studios in Sedona. Check out Sun Moon Studio + Village Yoga
- Spa day — Uptown Massage, Sedona’s New Day Spa, L’Auberge de Sedona [$$$$], The Wilde [$$$$]
Pro-Tips:
- Best time to visit: We were there in late March + it was amazing! I’d recommend spring or fall for the best weather.
- How many days? 2–3 days is plenty! You could also do Sedona as a packed one-day trip, making sure to go to a few of the vortexes + of course, ChocolaTree!
- Where to stay: We stayed at Amara Resort + Spa, which was in a perfect location + a great pool. But, I think for next time, I’d prefer to stay at an Airbnb or a smaller boutique hotel.
