Seville is so charming — we were only there for a couple days, but we instantly wished we were there longer (+ we wished we would have visited during warmer months — we visited late November + it was quite brisk).

Tapas, flamenco shows, so much color, beautiful lush trees, stunning Moorish architecture, + lively courtyards. Seville is such a romantic city — I remember feeling like I stepped inside a fairytale seeing horse drawn carriages, people sitting at the fountains eating baguette sandwiches, wandering cobblestone roads, + orange trees everywhere. I highly recommend visiting!

Stay

We stayed at Hotel Casa 1800 Seville. It was a beautiful hotel in the old part of Seville. It was very walkable to everything — we loved it! Make sure to check out the hotel rooftop, too… it has an amazing view of Seville! 🥰

Wellness

#1] Spa day at Aire Ancient Baths: Relax + unwind inside this bath house. You can also book massage treatments!

#2] Take a yoga class: There’s surprisingly A LOT of yoga + pilates studios in Seville for being such a small city. We took a class at Esana Yoga SL + loved it!

#3] ShenSations Wellness Center: Very good Shiatsu massage. Masajes con Karma Sevilla + Masajes SVQ looked like a great places for massages, too

#4] Maria Luisa Park: *MUST! Run or walk around this 100-acre park in front of the Plaza de España. This park is absolutely gorgeous! There’s so many variety of trees + plants. If you can, I highly recommend having a picnic in the park 🥰 Grab some bread, cheese, olives, fruit, + wine… + have a picnic!

#5] Kayak the Guadalquivir River: Depending on what time of year you visit, kayaking would be a fun adventure. I definitely recommend at least walking the river path — grab a drink + enjoy the scenery (amazing at sunset!).

Explore

#1] Royal Alcazar: *MUST! You could easily spend an entire half day here mesmerized by the beauty of the royal palace. Stunning architecture, colorful tiles, + amazing gardens. Check out a guided tour to learn more about the history of the oldest royal palace in Europe. (Also, buy tickets in advance!)

#2] Seville Cathedral + La Giralda: *MUST! The cathedral is absolutely gorgeous + massive — it’s the largest gothic cathedral in the world. My favorite part of the cathedral is its bell tower, La Giralda. Walk the tower + you’ll have the most incredible view of Seville!

#3] Flamenco show: While you can find flamenco shows all over Spain, the birthplace of flamenco is Seville! The one we went to was Tablao Flamenco Pura Esencia Sevilla.

#4] Wander through the streets of Santa Cruz: *MUST! Santa Cruz used to be the Jewish Quarter — filled with winding streets, local shops, restaurants, art, + beautiful architecture. Check out these free walking tours of Santa Cruz.

#5] Speaking of tours: Food tours, biking tours, history tours, market tours + more. Airbnb Experience has so many different types of tours in Seville… check them out here!

#6] Day trips: There are so many unique nearby towns + villages. Rent a car + explore! These are on my bucket list:

  • Ronda
  • Granada
  • Cordoba
  • Cadiz

Pro Tips:

  • Best time to travel? April-June or September-October (gets very hot in the summer!). We were there late November + it was fine, but a bit cold!
  • How many days? 2–3 days
  • Expect siestas! Many cafes + stores close for a few hours in the afternoon.
  • The city is very walkable, which is so nice! They also have a bike rental program that you’ll see all throughout Seville.
  • Check out this Seville City Guide — for more things to do, tips, museums, + more!

Enjoy Seville!

Love,
Elisabeth
